Build confidence and everyday skills with short, reward-based puppy games that make learning fun.

Name game
Say your puppy’s name once in a cheerful voice. When they look toward you, reward immediately. Practise in a quiet space before adding distractions.

Hand target
Present an open hand near your puppy’s nose. Reward a gentle nose touch, then gradually move your hand to guide your puppy a step or two.

Find it
Toss a treat onto the floor and say “find it.” This simple sniffing game encourages natural foraging and can help puppies settle.
Keep sessions short
End while your puppy is still engaged. Use tiny treats, allow breaks and avoid punishment or frightening corrections. If your puppy seems overwhelmed, make the game easier.
When to get personalised advice
Every pet is an individual. If you are unsure what is right for your animal, consult your veterinarian or a qualified reward-based trainer as appropriate.
